Investigating the Impact of Actual and Modeled Occupant Behavior Information Input to Building Performance Simulation

Occupant behaviors are one of the most dominant factors that influence building energy use. Understanding influences from occupants can promote development energy–efficient buildings. This paper quantifies impact different occupant behavior information on model (BEM) multiple perspectives. For this purpose, an uses agent–based modeling (ABM) approach is implemented via co-simulation with a BEM existing commercial building. Then, actual data in correspondence to ABM output, including operations window, door, and blinds selected thermal zones recorded using survey logs. A simulation experiment conducted by creating three BEMs constant, actual, modeled behavioral inputs. The analysis results among these scenarios helps us gain in–depth understanding how performance. study aims facilitate robust design operation human–in–the–loop system optimization.
